Wage Claims in Israel 2026

How to claim unpaid salary, overtime, severance, and other employment entitlements through the Labor Tribunal. Free initial consultation with Adv. Liron Elmaliach.

What Can Be Claimed

Israeli labor law provides for a wide range of employment entitlements enforceable through the Labor Tribunal. In addition to unpaid salary and overtime, claims can include severance pay, advance notice, recuperation pay, vacation pay, sick pay, and pension contributions — all with 7-year limitation periods.

The Wage Protection Law adds withholding penalties of up to 50% of the unpaid amount for delayed payment. This means a ₪50,000 unpaid severance claim can become ₪75,000 with full withholding penalties — making legal representation highly worthwhile.

The Labor Tribunal Process

Wage claims are filed in the regional Labor Tribunal. The process begins with a Statement of Claim detailing all amounts owed and the legal basis for each. The employer responds; both parties may be required to provide disclosure; and the case proceeds to a hearing before a tribunal judge.

Most cases settle before reaching a final hearing. Adv. Elmaliach handles the full process — from letter before action through to tribunal proceedings — and seeks commercially sensible settlements at every stage.
